Here’s a fresh one:
Well, this is news to me:
(Did you know that crash is the new collision? Apparently, slavishly using collision instead of accident wasn’t folksy enough for SFMTA-types. So now you see crash and crashes more. Crashes crashes crashes. It’s a mantra, right? Keep repeating it, over and over until you forget the meaning of the word. And then you’ll see it everywhere – blah blah blah crash, blah blah crashes, blah crash, crashes crashes crashes. Such is life in 2019.)
Uh, yes, I did notice the all-red phases. And I see a claim of coordinated signals, which is pretty funny hearing this from the SFMTA given its quite spotty history of coordinated signals, just saying. But what’s this? You simply lengthened yellow light phases?
Isn’t this kind of like cheating? Hey, SFMTA! What are the knock-on effects? Oh, you’re not going to explore that here? All right.
Of course I’m not saying that increasing yellows won’t reduce red light running. Oh look, here’s an example:
And then you get an update on the red light program. It’s going digital. The process is taking a while.
Anyway, this long yellow situation is a revelation to me. Let’s see how things work out over the coming years and decades…
And now, your moment of Zen:
